Introduction

     Based on the need of creating a system capable of tracking multiple persons in real time and using a robotic arm equipped with a spotlight to light the path of a specific person, this work will focus on create an application that can track multiple person in real time video streams and control the robotic arm.

      Moreover the system should be capable of translating the spatial position within the video stream into a real world location. The computed real world location should be used to control a robotic light spot, which will light the way for (one of) the recognized persons.


     This dissertation will have three main subjects to display, in the first one it will be shown the best solutions for multi person detection with one and multiple cameras, the second subject will be about the image processing and analysis and the last topic will cover the instrumentation necessary for this kind of projects regarding cameras and robotic spot lights.
